All of us at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute (GVJCI) deeply appreciate the support you give us throughout the year. We were built by the community, and are sustained by the community.

OUR MISSION: A space to engage, share, and embrace the Nikkei experience and culture.

OUR ROOTS: We were formally incorporated in 1967, but our roots in the South Bay trace back over 100 years ago through our Japanese Language School’s legacy.

WHO WE ARE: We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the Nikkei and broader community of the South Bay through educational, cultural, social, and recreational programs.

WHY SUPPORT US: Your contribution enables the continued growth of the GVJCI and its mission to serve the increasingly diverse and dynamic Nikkei communities in the South Bay through programs such as our Day of Remembrance, our Tanoshii Fun Camp for youth, and our Tomo No Kai senior programs. For the foreseeable future, our programs will look different than they used to, but our aim is to continue providing the same excellent programming in new and exciting ways.
