We are excited to be hosting an Uka Sake tasting on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 with Chef Julia thoughtfully preparing the pairing meal.
As we describe it here, Uka Sake is a sake that represents diaspora and the Koda family’s connection to their ancestral homeland in Fukushima, Japan.

As an Asian American trained in traditional kaiseki cuisine, my time at Azay has given me a new perspective into what it means to honor Japanese (and American!) culture. I’m happy to be part of a greater narrative that is focused on family-owned businesses and giving back to the community. This is my first collaboration with Chef Akira and Philip, and we hope to bring you a refreshing menu to pair with the three delightful sakes in the Uka lineup.
